What is Fineblanking?

Fineblanking is a specialized precision stamping, metal forming process that combines cold extrusion and stamping technologies to produce parts that cannot be made by any other stamping methods. With specially designed tooling and presses, fineblanking allows precision stampings to be produced that have the following characteristics:
  • Clean sheared edges
  • Little or no die break
  • Thin web sections
  • Exceptional flatness
  • Smaller holes relative to material thickness
  • Two dimensional forms with minimal distortion
Example of fineblanking created parts

Fineblanking Benefits:

  • Holds tight dimensional control throughout entire thickness of the part
  • Greater cost savings results because production is one single operation
  • Eliminates extensive secondary machining
  • Makes straighter edges for bearing or sealing contact
  • Cosmetic smoothness
  • Can be used on a wide variety of metals
  • Can be used to produce parts with many forms
Fineblanking is a cost effective specialized precision stamping. It is a metal forming production process that can be used on various metals to produce a wide variety of forms with straight edges and superior flatness.
